Who We Are

Tom Dowding – Instructor, Producer, Studio Musician, Live Event Technician
Tom is a talented multi-instrumentalist with years of experience in the music industry. At a young age he completed the Royal Conservatory of Music program for piano at the Academy of Music in Powell River. Tom spent several years in Vancouver where he worked on the road, in the studio, and on stage. It has always been Tom’s dream to start something like The Music Room and is proud to offer his services to Powell River.

Jenny Garden – Business and Marketing
Jenny works behind the scenes at The Music Room. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary where she graduated in 2004 with distinction. Her experience in business and marketing make Jenny a very important part of the team. Jenny takes care of most administrative duties to help ensure everything is organized and running smoothly.

Cam Twyford – Instructor
Cam creates an enjoyable music experience that is focused on the learning goals of each student. A talented pianist, guitarist, vocalist and drummer, Cam offers a well rounded approach to music and gives students the opportunity to try different instruments and music styles. Cam has completed his Grade 6 level of the Royal Conservatory of Music in piano and brings several years of teaching experience.
